About Us

Living Sober

Becoming a Resident
To become a resident, a man must admit that he is an alcoholic, must want to be sober, and must be willing to work. Most of our residents come to us destitute and unemployed. Some are homeless or coming out of institutions. All are in need of a temporary refuge where they can begin to put their lives back in order. Residents ages run from 18 to over 65.

Learning to stay sober
Residents are expected to stay sober and free from drugs while at the retreat. They are encouraged to attend daily 12-step fellowship meetings and must be looking for work. Volunteers and former residents stop by to share their sober experience, strength and hope, serving as role models and providing guidance for the difficult first months of sobriety. Residents also participate in regular meetings at the house designed to build character and accountability.
